All my life, despite my anger at God and my belief that He was not speaking to me, it was clear to me that He often guided me to specific books that were tailor-made for where I was in my spiritual walk.
He used these books to teach me, to expand my understanding, to give me a new perspective, to challenge me, to inspire me to continue the journey and to bless me. I would like to share with you some of the ones that have impacted my spiritual life in a significant way.
The Love Dare, Alex and Stephen Kendrick (read it through the eyes of a relationship/marriage between you and God.)
Believing God, Beth Moore
Praying Scripture, Beth Moore
Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, Dean Merrill and Jim Cymbala
Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, Nabeel Qureshi
Tramp for the Lord, Corrie Ten Boom
In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day, Mark Batterson
The Circle Maker, Mark Batterson
I also love to read well-written Biblical Fiction that stays as true to the Bible text as possible. Here are my favorites.
All My Glory, Terri Fivash
A Pearl in the Sand, Tessa Afshar
The Song of Eve, June Strong
The Fisherman: A Novel, Larry Huntsperger
